HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

Hey BUCG & dropper-by(s);
My "so-called" message is summed up in three words:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yesterday, we can't hold back our memories at Dream Centre! How can we not forget that we made history - it was our 30th Anniversary Dinner! ;) I can't believe there wasn't a single chair to sit on during the dinner. We had to sit on the floor.

These pics were taken in d' auditorium ^^

We watched videos, slides, & saw captions of pictures in remembrance on God's faithfulness that kept our journeys going thus far! Till then, we can't wait for more in the days to come! ^^ There was also moments of appreciation to all the DUMC staff. Also, the prizes for the different competitions were given out.

Amazing things that can be purchased to remember the night -Dream "Book", Dream "Mug" & a Dream "CD". It was so special coz DUMC launched their first album entitled, "In This City". They did their recordings live on 15th Nov 2009.

That night, we heard Pr. Daniel share his dream :) Remember the 10 Commandments? That was something that caught my attention. I hope something caught yr attention that will spur you on to transform the society for Jesus! :)

Basically it was a night to remember cos we launched in 2010 =) Wishing you God's best in dis yr!
Pinpoint: Pls. pray for Su Mei who will be leaving for NS on the 3rd January.
ALL THE BEST =)

D' END.

Camp and Christmas!

That was it - ELEVATE; our XYZ Youth Camp 2009 (16-19 Dec) :) All of us, went and left with no regrets! We're so amazed to have Crystal and Munn Kitt as first-timers for XYZ Camp! ^^
Yay! I finally revived this blog after months!

ELEVATE means raise, lift high, make higher, promote, further, advance and improve! It's not a clever slogan or a fancy title, it's a calling for us to RISE UP!
The camp verse was from JEREMIAH 1:7-8, which says "Do not say, 'I am a youth' for you shall go to all to whom I send you and whatever I command you, you shall speak and not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you', says the LORD"

This yr's camp is unique in many ways -
-The attendance was the most in the last few years!
-We stayed in a 4 star hotel... ^^ (Le-Paris!)
-There was one "Purely-worship" session! Amazing!
-The camp booklet was really cool =)

Despite all these, the most important thing is that we learnt heaps from the sessions and the games! :) God was real to us in many ways...

For games we had station and CSI games... and talent time, we had to advertise a product!
We had a great time. Pauline won BEST ACTOR, Congrats once again~

ANYWAY, I've not much to say,
MERRY CHRISTMAS~~

CG Outing at DC! :)

A handful of us came and watch a movie. Yeah, no charges were imposed upon us, and we thank God for this privilege! =P
We gathered in a room with a projector, and speakers! =] We had what we needed, a projector and a laptop, PLUS
some snacks to entertain us through that time...

Eventhough some of our members are going to have their trial exams, yet 2 of our CG members still came! :)
Confession time. We watched "The Confession of a Shopaholic" after brisking through the CDs brought by Alliyza.
Want to thank Joshua for the compromise, for the sacrifice of watching along with us, since it is more of a GIRLS movie.
The rest of the guys didn't have problem, thankfully. :)

The smooth 1 and 1/2 hours went past swiftly; and we went off "satisfied". We had a prayer session before we left.
All the best to Wilson who will be sitting for a driving test on Tues! You know, LOOK LEFT AND RIGHT! =)
PANDU CERMAT JIWA SELAMAT! =P And to Chris, Joshua, Esther, Pei Shan, Su Mei, Jeanette; best wishes for the SPM trials!
No wishy washy work, remember! ;) TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS.

PS. Announcement! Next week, there will be our normal Super Saturday, ZC, 2-4 pm. Wait, I'm updating too early.
Nonetheless, have a good look-out for the updates next week! :) Have a good week ahead...

Finding Your Fit

Hey! :)

Last Saturday, we had an awesome time at ZC! :)
Our guest speaker, Pastor Soo Seng Fei shared an interesting message on Finding Your Fit, as well as took us through the four personality types, DISC.

DISC is an acronym for:

Dominance
Influence
Steadiness
Conscientious

All of us are made up of all four personality types, but in different intensities.

Here are some of the characteristics of the different personalities.

Dominance

If you are a D personality type, you are concerned about RESULTS..

  • You enjoy solving problems, getting things done, and achieving goals.
  • You want to be in charge. (You dislike being told what to do.
  • You set high standards for performance (your own and other people's).
  • You trust your ability to produce results.
  • You enjoy challenges and competition.
  • You are willing to take risks, challenge the status quo, and break the rules.
  • You make decisions quickly.
  • You are impatient with people who "waste time" by talking or planning, who you think are incompetent, or who resist change.
  • You don't mind telling people they're wrong. You value "telling it like it is." You can be blunt.
  • You bore easily.
  • You get angry quickly (and you get over it quickly).

Influence

If you are an I personality type, you are concerned about COMMUNICATION and PEOPLE.

  • You are optimistic, charming, and outgoing.
  • You are a "people person."
  • You genuinely like people, and you want them to like you.
  • You trust people and enjoy bringing out their best.
  • You are a consummate communicator. You enjoy telling stories and you tend to exaggerate.
  • You enjoy meeting new people, working with others, and networking.
  • You tend to ignore the rules (since you don't think they really apply to you).
  • You are energized by working with people and you energize any group you work with.
  • You see the "big picture" and you can be inspirational.
  • You dislike details and you can be scattered.

Steadiness

If you are an S personality type, your are concerned about RELATIONSHIPS and PROCESS...

  • You are loyal.
  • You are sympathetic, friendly, and supportive.
  • You are a good listener and a team player.
  • Your goal is to help people.
  • You respect the way things have always been done, and you are slow to change.
  • You work hard — often behind the scenes — at creating a stable, harmonious environment.
  • You dislike conflict and sudden change.
  • You are patient. You stick with a project from beginning to completion.
  • You believe that the environment is favorable, but that you lack the ability to affect it.

Conscientious

If you are a C personality type you are concerned about QUALITY and ACCURACY.

  • You want to be right.
  • You research every aspect of a situation and consider every eventuality before making a decision.
  • You value your reputation for being accurate and logical.
  • You like systems and procedures that produce predictable and consistent outcomes.
  • You look for what could go wrong.
  • You read the fine print. You are a stickler for detail.
  • You prefer to work alone.
  • You have very high standards, especially for yourself. You can be a perfectionist.

We had a great time! :)
See you guys next week for our CG outing! :)

Super Sat - The Antioch's Church

Today, we got to see Daryll again; He's back from Cambodia! Welcome back! :)
Michelle requests you to blog about your experiences there!
Cannot remember everything you've said.

Basically, his trip was from the 6th till 14th August. The team, which consisted of youths ages 18 and above, went for home-visiting, youth camp, outreaches in church, and eating... For Daryll, it was more like a holiday! =P But it was his 4th experience to the missions field... Seeing the simplicity of the ppl there is heart-warming rite?

We bombarded him with questions after he shared! Thankfully, he answered all of them from his heart. I'm glad he shared about missions when we talked about missions. the key word is "Missions". Okay, today, we combined with 4 other CGs and Jehanne spoke to us about the "Antioch Church" ^^

So what about the Antioch Church? It is one of the great churches that serves as a model and examples for us. It is located 480 km north of Jerusalem. Nice fact, its aka the "First City of the East". It's a multicultural and multiracial city. The church helps to break down every wall of division and racism is broken down.

What made it so powerful?
1.It had spiritual hunger for God.
2.It majored in discipleship.
3.A disciple is a thoroughly trained worker with a great attitude. "Little Christ".
4.It worked as a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieve More)
5.It poured love and care upon the missionaries.
[Cf: Acts 13:1-4, 11:25-26, 14:27-28]

What is "Missions"?
Missions is God sending the whole church with the whole gospel to the whole world to meet the spiritual and social needs of humanity.

Why is Missions So Important in the Kingdom of God?
[The purpose of...is...] -for world missions
1. Jesus dying on the cross... [John 3:16]
2. Being a child of God...[Gen 1:28]
3. Your calling! [Phil 3:17[
4. Pentecost! [Acts 1:8]
5. The Church [Matt 28:19-20] - The Great Commission

Four things in the upper passage to the Church:
> It has been empowered with all authority of Jesus to do world missions.
> It is supposed to go into every nation
> It is to "make disciples of all the nations"
> It is promised Jesus' presence at all times.

6. Prosperity... [Deut 8:18]
7. Jesus delaying His 2nd coming... [Matt 24:14]

Hope you all are blessed and have learnt something this week.
Come back for a "Fasting and Prayer Session" next week!

DBS

Hey! :)

We've just started the 3rd book of DBS (Discipleship Bible Study) called Victorious Living and this week, we'll be continuing with the second chapter on the Antioch Church. Since Daryll will only be returning from Cambodia on Friday night, we will be combining with other CGs for DBS this week.

Date: 15 August 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 2-4pm
Place: Room EHOP

You can get to EHOP by taking the stairs near the Dream Cafe/Sports Centre. There are lots of signs leading you in the right direction :)
(For those of you who were around, EHOP was the room we met in when we combined with DJ.)

Let's also remember to keep Daryll and the team in prayer, kay? :)

Hope to see you this Saturday!

God Bless.

Super Sat - The Jerusalem Church

Since our leader showed his bravery by stepping out of Malaysia and heading to Cambodia, we had a combined CG meeting with PCG1. Daryll, we will always keep you in prayer! Basically,we are cheering you on to do the work of the LORD! Pls tell us more when you come back next week! I'm sure you will.... ;)
Anyway, I shall not further divert or go off topic because I want to talk about what we learnt! Officially, we started our Discipleship Bible Study for year 2009 on 8th Aug '09. We are in the 3rd book now, which is Victorious Living (to inform those who didn't come that day). We still have 2 more books left, way to go!These are the "knowledge" we obtained, as Jamie Ang taught us :) Just a summary!
What happened at the Jerusalem church?

Home cell group
Authority of the Bible
Relationships
Vibrant prayer and praise
Evangelism
Supernatural power ministries
Tithing and offering[HARVEST acronym]
Learnt anything? Interesting right? Well, quantity always follow quality! 2 factors to take note of"

-The Jerusalem Church grew so much that in 30 years, historians say that it grew to 100 000 members, when there's only 200 000 ppl in Jerusalem.[1/2 the population in that city were members of one church!]
-Every Christian must develop an unshakeable conviction about church growth.
Why must our church never stop growing? [Reasons, because...]

1. God loves ppl <3>
2. God commands us to reach out [Luke 14:23, Acts 1:8]
3. The needs of the ppl demands it [2 Corinthians 5:14]
4. Growth is God's will [Colossians 2:19]

Five Unbiblical Excuses for Not Growing

1. "God isn't interested in numbers"- If it isn't so, what for he used Moses to write the book of Numbers? Come to think about it! That's the Old Testament! In the New Testament, Jesus wouldn`t have counted the sheeps ifHe weren`t interested in numbers. He keeps track of the salvation of the whole world, so what do you think?
2. "What our church wants is quality, not quantity"Well there should be a balance I think!
3. "Large churches are impersonal"
4. "But all God expects of me is faithfulness"In God's kingdom, you demonstrate your faithfulness through your fruitfulness [Mark 11:12-14]
5. "Large churches are shallow and lack commitment"- Nope, that's not true! It's a myth!! A large church needs supportive ppl to take their places in serving Him wholeheartedly!! For instance, DUMC offers at least 30 ministries for us tochoose to serve in. Indeed, we need to be committed to serve and use our talents ^^

The Primary Essence of Christianity- Loving God wholeheartedly, and loving people fervently! [ Romans 5:8]- Soul winning is the primary purpose of God + Passionate in soul-winning! [does that sound familiar to you?] That's one of the 6 marks of a New Generation. Therefore, I encourage you to exert your vibrant passion to win souls!![Acts 1:8]

When will the miracle stop? [2 Kings 4: 1-6]Find a hurt and heal it, Look for a need and meet it!Hope you will take into your heart all you've learnt and apply it in your lives!

PS. Next week we will learn about the Antioch Chuch, and Alliyza, pls help to write in the blog next week! =) cool` thanks alot!!Come and find out more!

A very
Happy Birthday to Maybelle Ngor who turns 15 today! :)

It's been a blessing having you in our CG and such an encouragement to see how much you've grown. We pray that as you turn a year older, you will continue to grow in maturity and draw closer to God day by day!

May God continue to shower you with His blessings and lead you and guide you throughout the year ahead.

Stay on fire for God and keep shining for Him!

Have a great one! :)

Follow Up - Super Saturday

We're finally approaching the 2nd last "pre-LOUD". Thank you for being so patient with me, reading the posts and of course, your conscientious efforts in inviting your friends are credited! Good manpower people!

But remember, we can't do it without the power of God! Looking forward to a fine day on Sun which is next week... are you? If you are, let's bring it on together! =) Remember, PRAY for LOUD! You don't have to be reminded. It's "common sense". Haha...

Break Free is going to be one of our songs on that day! The prize for blogging is an i-pod touch. Catch some of this glimpses. I'm glad they revealed it to us today! :) As a reminder, this Wedn, there will be a prayer meeting in Hall 3 at 8 pm to uphold LOUD! in prayer.
It would be an amazing thing if we could all come and involve ourselves in this.

Today, we're very privileged to hear what Pr Foo and the Real Ink Crew had to say about doing follow-ups once our friends accepted Christ! Firstly, I want to thank God that now, 841 are confirmed that they're making their ways to LOUD!

Okay...here's the real thing today! Loading..............
||||||||||||| 20%
|||||||||||||||||||||||||| 40%
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||60%
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||80%
and |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||100%
here we are...

A follow-up is like feeding a new born baby... remember the illustration Pr Foo gave us today? If he left Lucas alone without food, he'd die of starvation, and definitely he won't be as he is today. [If you want to see ur friends' maturity when they're 5 months old as a Christian, you better follow-up on them]

Pr Foo randomly called people upstage to find out what they understood about follow-ups.
WHAT?

  • Don't leave them alone!
  • Disciple them so that they can grow!
  • Calling them up
  • Feed them more food - (i shall add, when they cry for more! =P)
  • Invite them to church
Then ask HOW? Watch these steps!
1.Pray 4.ABCD
2.Time 5.Invite
3.LOUD!

Assurance, Bible and Prayer, Church, and Declaration. Heard all those, remember them!! =D
I think Pr Foo will put it on Youtube so you can search for it!! One more thing I shall elaborate is that, Follow-up is a PROCESS. NO DELAY! [Call them within the 48 hrs slot!]

Real Ink Crew said: Don't be too persistent. Pray for your friends, not laptop. =P
God's always in control, so if He wants to bring yr friends back, HE WILL!
AND remember to invite your friends back for Super Saturday so that they can have a "taste" of it! Smells GOOD eh!

Yeah, that's about it for now! The decoration for our booth is awesome. Hairsprays shapes like butterfly, flower, star, dragonfly and others awaiting. Haha the TATTOO font was cool.
GOOD JOB EVERYONE! we gotta complete it by next Saturday! =)

LOUD! Concert 2009

The invitation cards are designed by Hau Yon! =) There's also words with yellow and purple font...

This is how the back of every card look like... please write a sincere note to all your friends =) Lure them to come =P

Blue font... =) Cool caption! (thanks to Eunice the blog photographer I shall say!)
You've been always there to assist, keep that up! I will need you full time during LOUD! 2009.

Just one bookmark...let's see how cool it will look when they all combine together!!

There you are... Splendid!

Counting...12 more days left... Highlights of the event:
- Alliyza and Daryll are part of the Real Ink Crew who will be dancing on that day with others =) Lets support them all the way! *cheers*
And let's continue to contribute towards the hairspray and tattoo booth we will be doing with DJ! Don't waste them all... =P
There will be heaps MORE! The only way to find out is to come! Don't miss it!

Once again, please pray for this event all the more ~ as it is nearing. Thanks... yr awesome ppl! God bless and cya again for this week's meeting!! :)

Yours truly,
[MiCH]

Super Sat - ZC: How to be a Good Host!

In preparation for LOUD! 2009, Big Jon, Jared and his team shared a few things for us to grasp. Let me recall them for the benefit of those who were absent yesterday.

During altar call - Big Jon`s sharing
If your friend raises his or her hand, indicating that he or she wants to accept Christ, you need to:
1) Accompany them out! Remember, you're encouraging them and telling them, I'm there for you! Make sure you fill up the center!
2) Next, the helpers will give out the gift packs, after they prayed the sinners' prayer. Make yr friends fill up the response card, then place the card in the boxes!
3) Of course, since all these are basics, just enjoy the LOUD! 2009 =P

Being a good host - Jared and team.
Good demonstration on how to avoid being a bad host! Prioritize our friends!
Don't assume they know everything!!
1) Address them by name - when you want to introduce your visiting friends to CG members.
Make them feel welcome!! Make sure both parties have something in common to talk about!
- make sure you know yr CG members' names! Don't embarass yourself okay? :)
2) Then, social etiquette!
- be on time!! Punctuality works in every event!
- Don't ever play sports' before LOUD! if not you will give out a bad smell =X
- Avoid eating food which leaves behind a smell in your mouth - like durians and garlicy food!
If you do, brush yr teeth real hard ~
- Look good, dress well ~ =] young ladies and gentlemen!! Dress decently...the best you can!
3) Don't spoil the FUN! Be enthusiastic... accompany ur friends to play the games they enjoy.
Don't discourage them!
4) Give friends personal space! *wink wink *
Especially for opposite sex, don't go too close to ppl you don't know!! (it still applies to ppl for the same sex, duh!)

Reminder - update your frontliners every Tues + Thurs! and frontliners will update Daryll once again! One last thing, pray that this event will be filled with God's presence! And that our friends will want to accept Jesus. Thus ends! Have a great week ahead! God bless!

[Its her again!]

HAPPY BELATED ~ bla...

Happy Belated Birthday to Pei Shan! =) 6th July!! Actually I wished her already but I'm now representing our CG. Best wishes to you! Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe! If you lack understanding on what I've just mentioned, you ought to question!

BUCG has no barriers! We welcome everyone!! =) You can fall and we will pick you up.
Ask questions, we will answer you! - Just a reminder to Pei Shan! And, not only that, we just want to thank you for being a part of our lives! You've made a difference!

We're sad not to see you around, but nonetheless, we can always keep in touch!! That's what technology is for, anyway! Continue to rely on God for strength to live out the next phase of your life! Make it count for the LORD, and live it to the fullest!

Remind yourself, you've one life to live! This is the fact that we all should remind ourselves about! Don't waste it away! You're an ORIGINAL, don't die a copy. Was just looking through d old camp notes for 2007... Yup!

Pei Shan, come back! :) Hope to cya soon! Reminder: Update your frontliners about who you invited for LOUD! 09 and who're coming! Thanks! =] Look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Oh, if any of you can come, come early to help out with decoration for our tattoo and hairspray booth! ^^ 1 PM...Not later!

- MiCH -

Happy Birthday Pei Shan! (belated post)

ZC: How To Invite Your Friends For LOUD

Throughout July, XYZ will be having Zone Congregation, to prepare all of us for LOUD! 09. :)

We'll be learning:

1. How to invite your friends for LOUD!
2. How to host your friends
3. How to follow up with your friends

[This is important stuff, so I hope to see you guys during ZC for the coming weeks, kay?]

This week, we started with the first: How to invite your friends for LOUD!

PLEIKS

Step 1: Pray
-Before you do anything else, commit everything to God, and be specific when you pray. List out your friends by name, because He knows each and every one of them! :)

Step 2: List (Make a List)
-List down all the friends you want to invite for LOUD, and hang it somewhere to remind you to continue praying for them.

Step 3: Entice
-Entice and excite your friends with the awesome LOUD! invitations and the promotional video (its on youtube under XYZ Events)

Step 4: Invite!
-Go up to your friends and tell them about LOUD! Be sure to know the details about LOUD (eg. when? what time? where? whats happening?) and get them excited!

Step 5: Keep It Fresh
-Continue to remind and excite them once in awhile by slipping it into your conversations. Remember, don't be a crazy stalker, just be natural. :)

Step 6: Seal the Deal!

-As LOUD! draws near, seal the deal with the friends you've invited! If there may be anything that is preventing them from coming, don't give up; go the extra mile. (For example, if your friend has no transport, offer to pick him/ her up.)

That's it! The 6 simple steps to inviting your friends for LOUD! :)

Also, our CG will be in charge of the tatoo and hairspray booths for LOUD! All the materials have been bought, but we need to provide manpower and also prepare sign boards for the booths. We'll be meeting this coming Saturday (11 July 09) at 1pm in Room 120 to discuss designs for the board. Please come if you can. ;)

Here's a glimpse of what you can expect for LOUD 2009! :)
For those who want to enter the blogging competition, this is also the video you need to put up along with your post.

God bless.

Connection Moment!

WOW! *Blast* It's my first time leading worship! Amazing! Thank God I wasn't nervous. For your information, I count it a divine intervention. Just now, Daryll called me aside, and I was wondering; "Are you gonna comment about my worship?" He did.

Thanks for all the feedbacks! (eventhough only two people spoke to me!). I will attempt to improve. As Daryll said, CG's the best place to make mistakes, and we can be corrected as well. [Not just facing your parents' rebuke!!] - Now I want to see more new faces leading us =D

Anyway, it was a privilege that Wilson brought his friend who attended YWAM (Youth With a Mission) with him for the last 6 months. Chris, really thank you for spending your time sharing with us ~ It's quite interesting to know he went for real-life mission trips to Cambodia, Phillipines and right now, he's also on a mission to Malaysia. Seems like you must be having a good time eh! The food here's awesome right?? ^^

Chris shared many stuffs. He told us that he had to preach and share a geographical point of view that "God's the spiritual map" (something like tat!). But yeah, He's our Guide... ;)
He preached to a large group of children. Interesting, lots of creative juices I'm sure! Haha!!
[Children ministry?]

We don`t know yet where he's going to do the work of God in the future but we pray that God will lead you, Chris. He's great things in store for you. Trust Him, never waver in the faith!! (For the CG`s information, I gave him this blog URL, hopefully he tags us!)

As for Wilson, welcome back ere ~ You've an Australian accent. First thing I noticed when you shared this afternoon. But well, yeah last time, I`ve seen the "as quiet as a church mouse" part of you, but your a changed giant now! (a spiritual one!) Praise the LORD, glory to God!

Basically, Wilson shared about His desire to obey God to marry the suitable mate. He also shared how he's nailed his sins to the "wooden cross" and how he had to get back right before God. Yeah man, you're on the right track! Stay passionate for the Lord!

We skipped the Word today. Anyway, today was awesome!! Can you imagine, 14 attendees today. even if Wilson and Chris (American) didn't come, it would still be a lot. thanks for coming to hear them everyone! COMPLIMENTS!! (Come back next week for ZC)
I won't be around!! Will be going to school camp. I pass on the blogging task for Alliyza to do!
[pls blog about SS next week okay?]

That`s the end of today.
* cheers *

Optimistic Life

=] It seems like everyone is having that sort of life when your "boat" is smooth sailing! When we were young, our parents were there for us! During teenage period, friendsare there in our distress. What about when the world seem so dark and there's no where to turn to in trouble times? Can you remain an optimist even when there's storms, or disaster so to speak? How do we react in such situations? That's the real test of your faith, whether you look to the gloomy side, or put your trust completely in God. Yes, an optimistic life is relaxing and fun, but truly, an optimist is someone who put God in between themselves and their problems. They don't put problems in between them and God, coz if they do, they will waver in the faith... those are the pessismitic people. Optimistic people will always find ways to live life to the fullest, spend their lives wisely and always have a positive mindset! They have a sense of confidence, fearless, and ready to face challenges whenever they come... Pessismistic people, sad to say, always lack confidence and will doubt that they can achieve something or complete it. Most of the time, they will give up - they lack perseverance unlike the optimistic people. We need to be moulded in our character to become an optimist. Each time we face a challenge, we can either stand strong and fight it or just ignore the problem and try to do something to make it goaway. I'm sure we have tried doing that before. Nonetheless, we can learn from our past. There's always a solution for every problem. Never take it all into your hands. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and counsel you, read the Bible - but you need to change your perspective, know that there's light at the end of the tunnel... =) Jesus isthat light that shines around us. Don't allow the cares of this world to darken your days. BEAUTIFUL LORD by Leeland!

I find this song really meaningful. Do you want to be optimist or pessimist? Choose for yourself how you want to live your life not when its "like a bed of roses" but rather, when life isn't like that at all. Make every moment count for the Lord, coz we're more than conquerors! Remember JESUS have taken ur burdens upon that CROSS and HEwants you to live a victorious life!! =) Let go, let God!PS. BUCG treats its members like family members, so if you face any difficulties, just share it, we will uphold you in prayer =)

Be Jolly people~ (I wrote this voluntarily for you - to encourage you!)

Super Saturday - Stress!! =X

It wasn't a "stressful Super Saturday" but we talked about "Stress" - Life in a Pressure Cooker!! =O Ouch! Stress is defined as the state of anxiety we go through as a result of pressures and problems we face.

The theme verse was "Do not be anxious about anything, but in anything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" [Philipians 4:6,7]. Of coz there are other verses that help us deal with stress ~ =)
This is a parlour of memory verses for us to claim on...
- 1 Peter 5:7 (remember you have to memorize it this week!!)
- Isaiah 41:10
- Phil 4:12-13
- Matt 6:25-34
- Matt 7:7-11
- Psalm 145:17-20
- Psalm 91:14-16
- Heb 12:11-13
- Rom 4:20-22
- James 1:2-4
- James 1:5-7

Does all these verses stresses you out? Well, I shall further move on to describe stress... You keep pulling a rubber band till it breaks and see what "tension" you will face ~ What about squashing a balloon in between your legs? It will eventually "BURST!" You also see the original colour fading as Daryll mentioned :) There`s a list of "stress facts" we all face!

These are the stress starters - according to CG members
Some of them are:
-Failing a test -_- (No!! ARGH! I could've done better!!)
-Doing something wrong (hair stand up! =X)
-Seeing parents fight! =(
-Not living up to parents' expectations!! (Grrr!)
-Unsure what your future holds [What's next???]
-Lots of homework! [Oh my!]
-Not being able to solve a problem, like MATHS! (What's the answer??)
-Can`t concentrate on studies!

Stress depends on the seasons!! (even I'm sure some ppl are stress of what Christmas presents to buy...) Stress isn`t always bad because it serves as an "Alarm or warning system" for us to act on stress... dealing with it, most importantly! This is essential, because it can't be avoided. We should react in a healthy way such as exercising..
I suggest eating well, a balanced diet! Do sleep well too, at least 8 hours a day!! I shall mention you should occupy yourself with yr favourite pastime. Fight stress!!! - its consequences are fear, depression and anger...
~ NiKE - Just do it!

To solve it =) Here`s some tips:
* Recognize the symptoms - don't deny you have it ~
* Discover the cause - ask God to help you discern why ur stress!!
* Deal with it - talk to leaders and friends, and of coz don't forget ur parents ~ =) they are very important as well!
Remember that ~ PRAY + read His Word too!!
You need help from people around you coz the Bible says "two are better than one" in Ecclesiastes 4:9 =)

Wow, its amazing how much we learnt today, thanks to Daryll. A reminder, please keep Esther's brother and her family in prayer...and advertise LOUD! to your friends... its about a month`s time... yeah!! (and ZC for the whole of July after so much of CG input!!) =D

We heard about Jeanette and Chris' birthdays - Jean went out and had a surprise party and Chris went out for Mexican food at The Curve with family. we celebrated after CG at DC cafe - just a carrot cake, like we did for Mun Kitt and Crystal. Haha! =]

Super Saturday -Relaxation!!

Relaxation!

Yes, a 2-song worship, an approximately 5-minute sharing and a time of "gaming" sums up this week's meeting. It was something rather different! Not much of Word, all I could recall was "committing yourselves to the LORD". Daryll told us that he didn't want us just to hear him, in case we couldn't remember anything he told us. Oh what a change! =)

Having an attendance of 8 people, we played cards - first Heart Attack, "same number", then the number game (two cards must add up to 21, then you win, something like that). It was fun well, Alliyza heart attacked so many times, while Eunice, a couple of times, and a quiet whisper of "heart attack" from Crystal. Not to forget, me and lastly, Daryll... =]

HOW RELAXING IT WAS ;) Maureen was actually suppose to drop by for a visit, but Daryll actually told her what we were doing... Anyway, I will proceed the next post with our pictures and more to come... ^^

[MiCH] =) Nothing beats a BLACK COLOUR post =P

Super Saturday - Goal Setting

Wow...it's the middle of the year! And we're talking about goal setting!! When asked how many had goals for this year, I was the only one who responded. Nonetheless, we can all make an effort to start now! =)

Just a brief introduction before I move on! Warm welcome to Jessica who's visited our CG! I remembered the time she came for LOUD! 2OO7 and was saved then. How amazing! ^^ We played the "same word" ice-breaker as we played in the previous FCS. Only the ppl
who came actually know what it was like on Saturday -

The theme verse for goal setting is [Ephesians 5:15-17] "Be very careful then, how u live, not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil..." We need to have a preferential rating of what's important in life!! =] we need to worry about priority in terms of "time" for 2 reasons:
-Time is limited. we just have 24 hrs a day, not more! U never have time to do what u want unless u make time for it!
-2ndly, God expects stewardship. Let us manage our resources wisely! :) Make your life colourful!

I want to share this illustration. U have a vase. Then u start to put the big pebbles, then the small ones, then water and sand! Guess what? it fits nicely, there's enough space for all the stuffs rite? ^^ BUT if u do it the other way round, u will find that there's no space for the big pebbles! =O This can apply to our lives. We need to prioritize our important or "BIGGER" THINGS in life so that there's still space for the smaller things. I hope u learnt something from here! ;)

Anyway, one great news! LOUD Concert is on 26th July 2009 so invite ur friends to come enjoy this wonderful night for FREE =P Also, a reminder, please submit ur details to Daryll asap if u're interested to join the blogging competition for LOUD! Maybe we should use this blog for the competition, all of us work together ><" I wonder if we are allowed to`

Oh well enjoy ur one more week of holidays! =) Submit ur FCS reports to ur frontliners...
That's about it for now! Will cya next week - I want to see more attendees - not just 9 =]

actually it was quite alot for BUCG standard =P
