Super Saturday - FCS2 Discussion

We met together and discussed about FCS2, our "personal time with our friends". This time, every CG had the green light to do whatever they wanted to.Exams are over PLUS it's school holidays! Isn't the timing just so perfect?? :)* Everyone goes slightly wilder *Daryll suggested that we can go out for movie, shopping, games and anything suitable for FUN and LEISURE. Yup its gonna be a few "social sessions" with friends. Let me add on by saying someof the purposes behind all these" (Just for fun now xD)- To reach our and share with friends- to celebrate coz exams are OVER! (*Woots!*_)- to hit off school holidays [yeah i just mentioned these]- to gain more skill or knowledge!!!!! :PI hope u will take hold of this opportunity to yr friends about this yr's LOUD 2009 which will be heldon 26TH JULY at DC ^^ Thats the key point to highlight. Oh, make sure your circle of friends [or whateveru wanna call it] have at least a meal together, coz FOOD CONNECTS`~ yeah, it does! :) HAVE FUN EVERYONE~ bring back ur reports to Daryll - update via email yeah so that I can share it on the oncoming post! =) HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Have a great one!

BAPTISMAL SATURDAY!!

Another thing to celebrate, as a CG, as a church! On 23rd May 2009, 2 ppl from BUCG were baptized during celebration. They're none other than Alliyza and Joshua! Once again, Congratulations!! We are so impressed that u took this step of FAITH! This is a day to rememberso mark it down ><>

Super Saturday - LAZINESS

We had our bonding time again, this time around with DJCG. Our group was slightly larger, about 15 of us gathered in room EHOP of the 2nd floor! :)
As we prepared our hearts, Sara led us in a time of praise n worship. Soon thereafter, Daryll shared the Word with us, while he learned as well. =PI know Laziness doesn't make sense!! Who in the right mind would mention it so that every1 would fail their exams, what more PMR n SPM? =P
We hit off our discussion time and divided ourselves into 3 groups. It was a good brain-storming session on what 6 qualities are needed in order to succeed in life. By the way, there's no winning team! =D
Happy? My team came out with these ideas: 3P - Perseverance, persistence n patience

3D - Discipline, dedication n determination(I wonder how come Daryll thought those are all the 6 traits I mentioned!!), There's 4 more.-Motivation to study, integrity, responsible, humble.[michelle, mark c, seng loh n joshua] GROUP 1
GROUP 2 - They shared similar ideas.. SOME OTHERS ARE: Obedience, honesty, punctuality n open-mindness[alliyza, chris, edmund, maybelle]
GROUP 3-The last group mentioned 3 things the other 2 groups didn't think of. YES, self-control, accountability n consistency, we should possess! =) [eunice, sara, jeremy, mark 2]
Obviously this walk isn't easy to be lived out! If it is, what for have the "philosophy" of "TAKING UP THE CROSS DAILY N FOLLOWING HIM"?
Those traits or qualities that we discussed are just so vital!! EVERYTHING WE DO NEEDS EFFORT! Remember the saying, "There's no short-cuts to success"? If u're lazy, u will, as well, not get teh marks u intend for ur exams! Moreover, guiltiness is like a blockage in ur artery that stops blood from flowing into ur heart *biological weh* (ROFL). You won't be able to flow in ur studies n it blocks u from reaching success. Everytime u feel guilty, u shouldask Gdo for forgiveness! That's the correct habit to cultivate =) Of course, never procrastinate! I heard my mom said before that "later" shouldn't be in my vocab at all. I wonder why every1 likes that word. Cheating n lying doesn't work the way to success either! I think they're cruel ways to treat exams lightly.
We need to work as hardworking as an ant in every season. I believe that ants work harder during winter in cold countries. well, when we face a "cold" we should work like the ants. ANNOUNCEMENT" [Pls be informed]. This Sat, *counting.. 3 dayz to go, it's gonna be Alliyza's n Joshua's baptism! *crowd cheers* CONGRATULATIONS!! It's gonna be their big day, so come n witness them. =] Take care n will see u this Saturday. all the best for ur exams.
MORE TO COME.

Here is a little advice from me.

---> Eat food that reduces ur stress + a balanced diet
---> Get sufficient sleep
---> Study everything, don't predict what's coming out!
---> Practice and do more exercises!`'~

Battle of the Will

We are called to submit to one another and to those in authority over us out of love and reverence for Jesus Christ. Simple...said!

Basically, submitting to one another, to older people, to authority whether it be Civil, Social or Church authority is a choice. We can choose to obey or disobey. Of course with no hesitation, the later would be best for all right? However, submitting to authority is waaaay easier compared to those who are IN authority for they are accountable to higher positions. For example, as leaders of a church group, they are accountable to God for their members whom God put under their care.

Submission is vital yet a pain in the neck for many. Especially among teenagers going through this age of 'i know it all, the world knows nuts, i know more nuts' kinda thing. But always remember, it is out of reverence to God that we submit ourselves to people in authority for we do it NOT unto men but unto God Himself who so freely came to earth NOT to be served but to serve and submit to authority which is Father God.

So, learn to submit to people who are in authority and imagine you in their shoes. How would you feel? How would you react to certain situations if YOU were in their pants. Make room for positive adjustments and we'll be a generation that is worth the living!

On another note, Mission conference ended a few weeks ago but there is still space for this post

During the conference, there were boards up and surrounding the concourse. The boards were filled with pictures of various missionaries from our church and members of XYZ!

I guess the project you guys did last year paid off huh? snapped a pic of BUCG and all their wonderful faces that were vibrantly glowing on the boards with tag lines attached to each pic. Proud of you guys! Kudos! ;)

Take good care ya'll and GB yo!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Woot! It's Mothers' Day today! :)
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
During the church celebration, each mother received a soap moulded in a love shape <3
The poems shared by Aunty Angie, Isaac and Joanna were simply heart-warming...
BUT we are not mothers', some of us will become mothers someday! ;P
That's the last of our worries!

But I would really like to hear from some of you what you did for this special occasion!! ^^
(Pls, this is a request from Mich, and I need yr contributions, ppl!)
Send in ur stories to bucg.xyz@gmail.com for the commitee members to post them up!
Thanks for ur help!
I shall share 1st. I decorated cupcakes made by Alliyza, we both did the same thing... =]

Suddenly, I remembered this song with the lyrics"
Mom, ur love, so warm, so sweet,
Yr love is still the same throughout the yrs,
Sometimes I broke ur heart and that's the hardest part,
still u love me with d love that never fails,
but i've made up my mind for the rest of my life...

I will love u, honour u and give u the BEST coz ur my mom!

In sickness, and in health, thru thick and thin, we shall love u!
(not a marriage vow, definitely!~ =P)
God bless..

Being Others-Centred

This is a delayed update for last Saturday's CG. My apologies.
It was the second chapter for the Attitude Check series.
We learnt about the importance of not being self-centred.
One important lesson that stuck with me was:

To look out for others' needs before my own

How I applied it this week:

Helping a girl out with her homework although I had things of my own to complete.

I learnt that when we help others, we receive so much more in return.

Seeing the joy and gratitude of the girl really encouraged me to continue to be others-centred. It also helps mould my character to be unselfish and kind towards others.

I encourage all of you to take every opportunity to be a blessing and show God's love to others by looking beyond me, myself and I.

Take time to realise... No, it's not gonna be that simple... but, let's ARISE and set the EXAMPLE.

Can't wait for today's Attitude Check # 3! ;)
