Super Saturday - ZC: The Word
Yesterday we resumed our Super Saturday meetings after a week of CNY! I'm pretty sure you had a good time with your loved ones! Before I talk about yesterday, let me recall what happened two weeks ago.
We didn't forget the Super Saturday before CNY! "God in Ancient China" was a sermon by Pr Kong Hee of City Harvest, Singapore which conveys the message that Christianity ISN'T a western religion unlike what many would say. It gave us a deeper understanding of the roots of Christianity in China! It was awesome...
Anyway, yesterday's meeting was on "Grounded in the Word of God". We launched the series on the 6 Marks of a New Generation and we began with the first one! For the benefit of those who weren't there, here is what Grounded in the Word of God means!
- To be firmly planted in the Word; constantly absorbing nutrients like a plant absorbs nutrients from the soil.
-These nutrients from the Word of God are life-giving because it revives our souls and brings encouragement into our lives...
One very important lesson highlighted during yesterday's meeting is that we need to MEDITATE on the Word of God - that's the way to absorb all the nutrients =P
If you READ without MEDITATING, you're like EATING without SWALLOWING!!
It's important to READ THE WORD by having a daily QUIET TIME [the Bible didn't say YOU MUST DO YOUR QUIET TIME; BUT throughout the Word of God, there's a strong emphasis on the importance of the WORD]
START TODAY and see how it ADDS JOY to your life! =D It helps you when you're going through a difficult time... =] We were also TOLD (not that we're forced to) to memorize Scripture verses! Let's cultivate this good habit, PEOPLE!
