Worship [CG].

Worship is defined as "attributing worth to an object or a person". It is embedded in us, and we're naturally inclined to do it. [Some people worship their toys!] Everyone in this world worships something, or even someone. So, we're designed for worship!

Daryll said he pictures worship as "lifting up two hands". :)
I like this. Worship is the manifestation of the splendor of God! God's splendor is simply portrayed in His wonderful creation! =] I'm so in awe of the sunflowers in the meadow!

God's will for us is: WORSHIP.
Isaiah 43:21 says, "the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise".

Worship can be counterfeit.. so, we'll scrutinize, what's true worship? It is..

1) Being passionate about God's presence.

John 12:1-8, an amazing passage to read. =) Passionate; you know it all.

2) Humbling of the heart.

Isaiah 6:1-8. When Isaiah entered into God's presence, He realized how sinful He was. Humility, people. We should approach God in humility!

3) Sacrificing and then expecting something from God.

Hebrews 11:6... a good passage to meditate on. Believe it as well! We can expect something from God.

JOHN 4:23 - "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth."

That's all for now. (: Take care people!

Glenn Packiam Speaks to the Youths

We were all blessed to have the opportunity to hear Glenn Packiam speak to us. :)

Passage: Eph 5: 1, 15-17

Here's what we learnt in a nutshell:

1. We need to grow in our spiritual walk just as how we desire to grow physically, emotionally and mentally. And you know what's great? God's already given us instructions in His Word on how to grow because we are His dearly loved children.

2. It is good to know between right and wrong in life. But it's better to discern what's wise and foolish to do. Certain things we do might be right but not wise. How then do we decide what's wise?

Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you daily and guide you. And when He leads you, obey. See yourself become stronger as you continously choose to obey. :)

Also, here's someting to remember every time we need to make a choice:

See you all soon! :)

Change Your World Tour. (:

4th September 2010, Sunway Convention Centre:
A bunch of brilliant & energetic youngsters crowded the convention centre for last week's "Change Your World" Tour. An inspiring 4-hour session with Relent & 1 a.m. was something I never regretted investing my time into. The members of BUCG who actually made it there can say that "It's worthwhile in the long run; I learnt something; & I'm definitely going to make a change!"

To seal our participation in the tour, we got a "chop" of the word "CHANGED" from the assisting crew... While the excitement kept stirring in our hearts, there was a countdown to CYW! :) The tour kicked off with a dance performance (I think Daryll was dancing then). Next, it was a vibrant worship with the band.. They sang songs that are contained in their album called "CHANGE(D)". Later that night, we redeemed the "free album", a gift for ALL participants.

Pr. Kelvin (from 1 a.m.), YB Hannah Yeoh, & Pr. Cathryn were our honored guest speakers for that night. Each of them brings a different message across, & I have summed it up below:

Don't allow feelings to stop you from changing your world. He mentioned that it's a norm (generally speaking) for people to "feel good & comfortable" to do something. Feelings DOESN'T matter when it comes to changing your world. SERIOUSLY. =] Pr. Kelvin emphasized "empathy", which is identifying with the feelings of others. :)

You can't be ignorant about the news around you. You can't change that which you are not yet aware of. One thing I've learnt is to be "more aware" of what's happening... Just as Nehemiah & his "team" helped to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, YB Hannah encouraged us to "rebuild Malaysia". The story of Nehemiah, significant as it is, can teach us lessons on making change...I encourage you to read it! :)

Pr Cathryn wrapped up everything that has been spoken, all the more, urging us to make a change. She shared from John 12:24. Unless we die to ourselves, we can't be productive in changing your world. & ultimately, we can't see the "many seeds" of change. :(

During & after the sessions, we pledged to make changes in various ways & we made money contributions to some organizations which are part of making change for this world. I encourage everyone of you, despite your ineptitude or inability, to start making a change!!
Change is inevitable, as long as we live in an imperfect world.

Outing to Rumah Hope 280810 :)

PRAISE: God provided for our every need for the outing! He had used our five loaves and two fish to be a blessing to many! Praise God! :)

PURPOSE: Give our best to serve and be a blessing because we were representing God!

PEOPLE: Ultimately, it was not whether our program ran well but it was all about people.

As we were preparing for the outing, we were reminded of HO HO HO. :)

1) HOPE : Help Other People Everyday

2) HONEY
: We were sweet honey that God was going to use to be a blessing.

3) HORSE: Waiting at the gate meant preparation and all the hard work put into making the outing a significant one. Racing meant going all out and giving our best unto the Lord.

We started prep around 2pm. We prayed, packed the party packs, ran through the program (practising arts and craft, dance, games) and basically, prepared all we needed. Not forgetting, parapapapa (i'm lovin it) was just to fill our hungry stomachs before we left. :)

We arrived because we stuck together (HSM). We arrived at Rumah Hope around 6pm. Was really a fun time playing games, singing songs and most importantly, getting to know the wonderful children. :)

It was truly an outing to serve and be a blessing. We went there to give but gain so much more!

Thank you, God for a memorable and fantastic time!

Great job, BUCG! We did it and made history! :)

See you all tomorrow! ;)
